Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge! Challenge #203 Bye Bye Birdie Bye Bye Birdie Create a project with a bird on it. To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. Here is my project for the week: I took these pictures of my son, Dallas, way back in November 2013, and I'm just getting around to scraping them. This was his 6 year photo shoot, and they were taken outside his elementary school. I love the fall look of the pictures, with all the trees and the fall colors, so I wanted a scrapbook page that would reflect that as well. I used a lot of different cartridges to make this layout, but it was worth the extra effort. I used Cindy Loo for the tree, Doodlecharms for the leaves, Home Decor for the bird, Opposites Attract for the "T" in Thankful, and Cursive 101 for the rest of the word. I didn't like the T, so found one that I liked better. I used a Spectrum Noir marker to "edge" the leaves, Tim Hotz Tea Dye Distress Ink to ink the edges of the paper and the tree, colored in the bird using a red and orange Glaze pen, and then popped the bird up using some foam tape.

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with FCCB! Challenge #95 Mix and Match Use 3 different patterns of paper Winner will receive the Funny Valentine stamp set To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. This week we were challenged to use 3 different pattern papers and at least 1 Cricut cut. This was a bit hard for me, as I don't mix a lot of patterns, I don't feel that I am good at choosing complementary patters. So, to make this a little easier, I chose papers that matched in color more than trying to mix the pattern. The base paper has a text with blue birds. The photo mat paper is blue with a white diamond shape, then the embellishments are yellow and grey and have a light white pattern on them. Then for a pop of color, I used the yellow and green paper flowers, which some of them have a pattern on them as well. I inked the edges of all the papers, and cut the title using the Opposites Attract cartridge. The shapes came from the Disney Cars cartridge, it's the stop sign without the word. Also, you will notice a small grey piece of cardstock tucked behind the photo, this is where I hid my journaling. This project is dedicated to Miss Pam, who was my son, Dallas' daycare teacher for the last two years. It was really sad to leave her, as she is like family, but Dallas had to head off to "big boy school" and go to Kindergarten.

This is just above my headboard, and I love it. I used vinyl from Cricutvinylsupplies.com, in a chocolate brown and a copper color. I love how the copper sparkles just a little bit, then the brown really grounds the piece. I have always loved this saying, and thought it would be perfect for our bedroom. I used three different cartridges for this project. I used Opposites Attract for "Always'" Plantin Schoolbook: Roly Poly font for "kiss me goodnight," and the hearts are from Create a Critter 2. I cut the hearts in 3 different sizes. I hope you like my project and that it inspires you to do some home decorating. Materials Used: Cricut: Opposites Attract, Plantin Schoolbook, & Create a Critter 2 Vinyl: www.Cricetvinylsupplies.com Challenges Entered: Die Cuttin' Divas Hiding in my craft room Cupcake Inspirations The Paper Girls Craftin' Desert Divas I couldn't help myself. I love the Hump Day commercial, and it was the first thing I thought about when it was time to scrap my son's visit to the petting zoo. He was so excited to get to ride the camel, and wanted to do it over and over again. I really like this layout, and how I was able to get 16 pictures on it. I started by cutting the title and the camel using my Cricut. I love the Animal Kingdom cartridge, and wish I had more opportunities to use it. I then used chalk to give the camel some color, using a tan, light brown, and yellow and blending them all together. Next I cut all the pictures to as small as I could, and started layering them on the paper. I wanted all the camel pictures on one page, since that was the highlight of the trip, and the pictures from the petting zoon on the other. I lifted some of the pictures using foam tape, which I think looks awesome and gives the page some depth. I finished it off with some yellow strip washi tape and some little green arrows that I covered using cardstock. Materials Used: Cricut: Animal Kingdom and Opposites Attract Paper: The Paper Studio - Pocket Full of Posies & Recollection Cardstock Other: Washi Tape by Recollections, Chalks by Craft T Productions, Foam Tape, Chipboard Arrows, Cream Color Tag (It's tucked at the bottom of the second page under a picture and used for journaling.
